Our credo: Because the Wanderlust crew believes in eating real food and supporting local farms that give back to the earth, we buy over eighty percent of our produce from area farmer’s markets and direct from local farms themselves. We believe that organic produce is not only better for you but tastes better, too. We believe that sustainably raised meats are our future.

Our Story

Thanks for stopping by Wanderlust Catering. My name is Simi Hansen. I'm the founder of the company and the Head Chef. I'd like to tell you the Wanderlust story.

I started my professional career as a woman wearing a suit in the business world. When I realized that I thought about food way more than work, I took on culinary school at the International Culinary Center in Campbell, California during my spare time. After graduating with top honors, I quit the corporate world and started working for high-end catering companies and upscale restaurants at home and abroad.

I spent over two years traveling the world learning cuisine from many different cultures. My favorites are the fiery dishes from Southeast Asia and the convivial tapas of Spain. I also learned the importance of sustainable practices from regions where resources are limited. I especially cherish my time spent working on a biodynamic farm in New Zealand.

Upon returning home, I realized that I truly loved the intimacy of catering and making the perfect meal for a client. Wanderlust Catering was born.
